THE MAKING OF CLAIR OBSCUR
Using light-sensitive photographic paper as her surface, Miller drew techniques from painting, printmaking, and alternative photography to create evocative wallcoverings and fabrics that capture illumination itself.
Six enigmatic patterns convey the movement and reflection of light, revealing subtle transitions from brooding shadow to shimmery gleam. Romantic with a touch of grit, Clair Obscur makes the evanescent permanent.
