Elworthy Studio: What was your vision for this bedroom space? (And for the home in general?)

Niche Interiors: We were fortunate that our fun-loving client was willing to go all-in with color and pattern throughout her home, and the kids bunk room was no exception! The custom bunk beds took up a majority of the wall space, so utilizing the ceiling was the best option for adding a playful pattern.

ES: What drew you/your client to our Sedona wallpaper in Sky for this project?

NI: She was drawn to the whimsical, geometric pattern that felt sophisticated enough to grow with her child.

The wallcovering brings color and interest to this room, elevating the design with an unexpected pop! While the bunk beds draw your eye upwards, the pattern on the ceiling provides the perfect landing spot.

ES: What effect does this wallcovering have in the finished space?

NI: The wallcovering brings color and interest to this room, elevating the design with an unexpected pop! While the bunk beds draw your eye upwards, the pattern on the ceiling provides the perfect landing spot.

ES: What are some of your absolute favorite sustainable resources for projects? Can be ones that are tried and true, or new discoveries!

NI: Using Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood in our projects is one of the biggest ways we can protect our environment and promote sustainably managed forests. The bunk beds were fabricated locally with FSC certified wood and non-toxic finishes. We love using organic cotton and linen textiles and bedding – Coyuchi is one of our favorite sources.

ES: As fellow lovers of all things color, we are curious...what do you feel is your color 'soul mate'? Feel free to be as specific as you want!

NI: love this question! I would have to say that anything in the blue-green color family is my jam, with an affinity towards mossy greens. There is just something calming about greens and their reference to nature that is enduring.
