Desert getaway: The super bloom

IMG-8852.jpg

I’ve been to the desert many times, but my recent visit was like no other. With all the rain we had this winter, the California deserts are having an unusually bountiful season of wildflower blooms!

Last week, I spent time in the southern part of Joshua Tree National Park and Anza Borrego. I hope some of you get the chance to see the “superbloom” in person…but I thought I’d share some photos here as well! While I didn’t get to see the fields that are blanketed in poppies, I did see areas dotted with an array of wildflowers in shades of yellow, pink, purple, and blue. I was dazzled by how many varieties of flowers were thriving in the desert! These images are sure to be a source of inspiration for my future designs.
